Legal information

Terms of use

Best House Ideas shares project accounts and general information about designing and building homes. Please use the material in the context of your own location and project.

Information, not a project specification

Articles and illustrations do not replace a site survey, engineered design, construction specification, permit review or professional advice. Requirements vary by site and jurisdiction. Consult appropriately qualified local professionals before making construction decisions.

Project stages and illustrations

Completed, ongoing and planned projects are labeled separately. Abstract graphics are illustrations, not project photographs. Dimensions, costs and technical performance should not be assumed where they are not stated.
